The Olympic Games is a global culture
I have choose this picture because she represents the multiculturality around through the Olympic Games. For me the Olympic Games are a cultural assimilation because they seem a natural part of countrys who participate. It's the culture of many countrys and they don't need to appropriate the Olympic Games because it's a part of their culture.
Olympic Games combine culture with sport
On the Olympic esplanade in PyeongChang, visitors not only have the chance to see Olympic athletes from around the world receive their hard-won medals, but also to witness superb artistic and musical performances before and after the winner's ceremonies. These benefits come from different countries and show the different cultures in the world. In sprit of these artistic performances wich reflect different cultures, the countries meet for the same objective : to practice their passion in the field of the winter sports.
The same culture : sport
The Olympic Games are know around the world and this event brought together 93 countries in 2018 in PyeongChang. Countries that come from all over the world to participate in this event share common culture : winter sports. And despite the different culture of the participants they have this common point. In addition, this event is connected worldwide through the television and everyone can view it. ReplyDeleteI do think your article is very interesting. Indeed, the sport is the way to show the global culture around the world like music. I agree with your idea for picking up the idea of the Olympic games to show global cultures because as you said in your post there is 93 countries of the 197 in the world are present during this huge event. Moreover, every country can participate to those Olympic games if they want and they can. Also, as you said if people want to watch the Games from all the countries on the earth than can, which show than it is a big culture in the world.
ReplyDeleteSport is the biggest culture everywhere around the world, maybe with the music is one of the things than everyone does or already did. Indeed, we can go in America, China, South Africa, Russia or in Europe we will find exactly the same sports than they practice for the Games, which means it is a very good example as a global culture. That is why I agree with this article.
It can be a great idea to discuss in class about this topic because some students might have different point of view on this subject. Indeed, some of them, they might be agree with the idea of the Olympic Games are a global culture but I’m sure some of the students won’t be agree with this idea for some reasons, that is why we definitely should talk about it in class with everyone.
