Rugby World Cup : an importante symbol of global culture !

A  little bit of history

The rugby world cup ( ruby XV ) is an international competition created in 1987 and it takes place in a different countries each four years. The first competition took place in Australia and New Zeland and this year it will take place in Japon. France will be the host of this cup in 2023. 

The rugby 15 comes from England, it is a collectif sport which two teams of 15 players each compete. Unlike football, rugby is a game played with hands as well as foot the goal is to win most points. Rugby competitions existes on several scales: competitions between clubs from the same city to the world cup.  Only four nations won the Rugby world cup: New Zeland ( 3 times ) , Australia ( 2 times ) , Souths Africa ( 2 times ) and England ( 1 time ). 

A sport known from everyone

This sport is played every where in the world by, teenager, adult which are amateurs or professionals, boys or girls. It's a sport that we do not have to practice to get into it. It's a very popular sport that we can watch on TV or watch directly in the stadiums. If you wish to support the team you can buy the team's jersey, accessories or makeup and feel close to the players. Rugby reunites  children and adults around one same passion. 

A sport that united 

First of all, rugby is a collectif sport that develops social link into the team, that conveys human values such as fair play, sense of honor, fighting against racism. Further more, rugby world cup is see by million of supporters which came from different countries, which speak different languages, so which have different cultures. All this persons are reunited to support their country and to share the same passion. This allows to meet new people, to create new links. The values share between players are also share between supporters and they are transmitted by generation to generation. During the word cup, whole nations are mobilizing to support their country. During a World Cup, there is no language barrier, no cultural difference or jet lag , every body has the same felling: the euphoria and the wish to see its country win. We can see it in stadium, in bars or even at home with friends where every body has the same language: the language of rugby!
