A city of global culture
Paris, the city of global culture
Today I’m going to speak about the
city of Paris which represent for me the global culture, I’m going to show you
why.
One of the
characteristics of Paris, compared to its main European competitor, London, is
the lack of promotion concerning its multicultural character abroad. Indeed,
Paris is obviously first of all known world-wide for its romance, and all its
stereotypes as wine, bread and beret.
However, in terms
of population, Paris has a multi-ethnic profile as the capital of the United
Kingdom, although it is difficult to measure those exactly, because of the lack
of statistics taking into account the origin in France.
Paris is of
the first global cities, it has attracted the world’s brightest and the most far-
off for centuries, from artists to tourists, to writers, emigrant or even pioneer
or scientist. It is at once famous for fashion and food and also attracts
millions of travelers to its museums, operas, streets, coffees, as well as
continuing to hold a key place on an international stage.
The city is
today one of the most important and a business and cultural center;
entertainment, music, media, and the arts all contribute to its status as one
of the world's major global cities. It is known for its sophistication,
cultural prestige, and global influence. In studying abroad there, you will
benefit from living in this diverse and cosmopolitan European capital city.
It’s a
cosmopolite city, a place of meeting and share with its several and various
districts where all the
nationalities and communities are living since the different waves of immigration
of the 70’s. There is a Polish quarter on the
first borough, an African on the fifteenth. There is also a Chinese one on the
thirteenth which is famous a lot and a Japonese on the second. Finally, there
are a Jewish quarter and the Little India on the tenth which is represent on
the picture I post. I choose this it because I think it represent so
well the diversity of communities of different nations and cultures living in
Paris.
Therefore, Paris
is a city that represents well the global culture thanks to the diversity of its
population but also thanks to its history and cultural resources.
Hello Carla,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, Paris is above all our capital.
The city of Paris represent different thoughts : love, romance, luxury, fashion...
Finally a lot of things that make you dream.
In addition, it is true that it is an economic city with a significant weight, whether at the media level, political, or even cultural.
So I understand your choice to use the city of Paris to represent the global culture.
For me this is very representative and more all your argumuments are solid.
So i agree !
