How soccer became such an icon for global culture ?

History:

The history of soccer or more commonely known as football reflects the birth and evolution of football, a collective sport that emerged in the mid-nineteenth century in britain and became the next century, the most popular sport in the world. 

In October 1848 Cambridge rules were the first attempt to unify the rules of football. The first independent clubs appeared in the late 1900s. In 1863 eleven of them founded the football Association, responsible for organizing the practice of football in England

Football has conquered the world in a peacefuly way. It is the main symbol of globalization.

But while globalization is perceived as a force that dissolves national identities, football is the exact opposite: people weld around their national team, hold the flag of a country and consensual symbol of a unit undetermined.

Soccer represents a sport now a days, but beyond that it represents the union, the strengh and the passion of millions of fans and player who live from and for their passion.
