TomorrowLand, where the world is united

Global culture is defined, first of all, by the notion of sharing. This is why we all know that music is very important in Global Culture because it is a worldwide share point. Many countries, for example, have their own style of music (oriental, latino, hip-hop, etc…) and all of these styles are shared in the world.
Today, I will talk about an event in Belgium, it’s called « Tomorrowland ». It is an electronic music festival organized in July at the De Schorre Provincial Estate in Boom, in Belgium.
Tomorrowland appears in 2003, from the idea of two brothers, Manu and Michiel Beers. This festival invites every year all of the biggest DJs like Kygo, Avicii, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, etc… It’s a huge event where thousands of people from all of the world get together to assist to unbelievable shows, and all of that in a fairy universe.

Tomorrowland counts, in 2012, the participation of more than 365 disc jockeys, with approximately 180,000 visitors to this edition coming from 75 different countries. The following years, the number of festival-goers remains stable, but more and more nationalities are represented, until 2004. It is elected three times in a row as "best music event of the year" during the Winter Music Conference and its reputation is such that some videos published by the organization exceed the hundred million views. It remains today the world's best-known electronic music festival. It employs 80 people a year for the organization and 12,000 people during the event.

It’s important to have an event like this, when people from all around the world share music together and take pleasure to live some extraordinary shows conducted by big DJs. It’s a beautiful example of globalization.
Furthermore, there are places where people are gathered to sleep, much like the idea of camping in tents but in that case people share and listen to music together.
