France in the heart of global culture - Study in France



First touristic destination in the world, France also is an attractive place to study! Nine out of ten foreign students recommend the country to do studies.  Why do foreign students want to do their studies in France? 





First of all, foreign students come to France for the high-quality education (46%). In fact, France is one of the countries delivering the most high-quality graduates, and of course recognized on the international scene.  It offers formations for every levels of studies and in all disciplines (medicine, law, businesses…) Moreover, one other fact that attracts foreigners to study in our county is its sixth place in the world in terms of domestic research and development expenditure.
Some foreigners only come to learn the French language (41%). Indeed, French is considered to be a beautiful language but it also has a major role in our current world. First of all, the French language is the official language of approximately 200 million people, it also is the fifth global language, and the second most learned language.  After questioning several people, they revealed that the French language is an asset for 50% of them. Why is that? Well, first of all, it is the only language, with the English, that is spoken in the five continents. Moreover, it offers a privileged access in more than 47 counties all over the world. Finally, the French language is the second language in international information and the third in business. The French language really is at the core of the global culture. 

Finally, some foreigners come for the French culture (38%). The French culture, is very famous throughout the entire world. The « baguette », the red wine, the gastronomy and fashion are a big part of our fame around the world.  In fact, France’s heritage is recognized to be among the most prestigious one in the world.
What pleases the students? The French way of life, its gastronomy, its taste for good things, its importance in the fashion world... In addition, France is also famous for its many universities, such as the university de La Sorbonne. Indeed, for a Russian student, the history of this university is one of his principal motivations because « studying where Louis Pasteur did his studies is extraordinary ». Then, a Norwegian student came in France just for the art of going out during the night with his friends. He said that it was famous in France. France is famous for being very alive and attractive, especially for students.  French culture is probably one of the most known all over the world.

    I like you're post that's why I chose to comment it.
    I'm agree with you, France is a good example to speak about globalization. The country is a hub for globalization, almost the center of the world (according to the points of view), between American’s, European’s and African’s continents. This country attracts a lot of foreigners from many countries of the world and moreover many students. I think it's due to its own culture, but also the mix of Greek, Roman and many other cultures. We can see it everywhere in the country, especially in the city of Nimes where there’s antics Arenas or in Lyon with the old “gallo-romain” theaters. The globalization is everywhere in France, in the past but maybe even more in the present.
    Our culture is also a huge mix of many international gastronomies.
    Students come here for all those reasons, and thanks to them, they participate more and more to the globalization of our country.
    I think this post must add to our class discussion because of all those elements, here there's a good example of what globalization is.
