International food

Today I’d like to talk to you about the global culture.

I have choose the international food.
For me, food represent the global culture because there are differents kinds of food for all tastes, all cultures and countries that exist in the world. So that's why I chose this presentation topic to explain to you what the global culture can be.

First, the food is different according to the religions: the Christians will eat fish every Fridays while Muslims do not eat pork. These are only rules related to religion but no one is obligated to respect them.

Secondly, food is not the same according to the country.
Each country has its peculiarities: more or less spicy, the fruits vary according to the climate, some eat meat that others do not eat (like dog meat in China).

But with all its differences, the food trade is one of the biggest global markets: import and export.
Thanks to this market, all the countries of the world can have access to food that comes from elsewhere or that is not necessarily of season.

Finally, the Nourriturre is a way to discover a country. When you visit a country, the first thing you talk about is its gastronomy. This is representative of a community.
That is why for me food is representative of the global culture.

  1. Hi Brune,
I just read your article on this blog, I wanted to answer you because I found it very interesting.
I think that food in foreign countries allows us to feel at home. This allows us to discover new local products, which are unknown in our countries or products to which we have false ideas on taste, for example. Moreover, what is good in many countries is that you can find typical dishes from foreign countries in other countries. Thanks also to the importation and exportation we can find food products that are not in season.
    I really enjoyed your article.

  2. Hello brune,
I really like your article that is explaining the importance of food in globalisation. You'r totally right, food travel the world and food make the world. We are recognizing country by their food. For exemple sushi for Japan, pasta for Italy, cheese for France or even couscous for Maroco. With this subject we can discuss it in class by studiing the globalisation and by looking for all the type of restaurant in lyon that are creating product from their "country", for exemple sushi shop or kebab or italian ristaurante! By studiig that we will see that Lyon is globalized and also that food is helping the globalisation.
