Coca Cola; an icon of the global culture

Today coca cola is an important symbol of the  globalization. Indeed, Coca Cola distributes their drinks in the world by bringing adaptations depending on the country; with drinks more or less  sweet, with changing the writing of packaging and publicity. But their make also lot of adaptations depending on the age and sex of the consumer; with coca cola light for the women who don’t want to going fat or by using lot of famous people who are the idols of the young generation on the publicity for incite them to drink coca cola.
Coca Cola it’s, today, the first in the world in the fields of soft drink. Coca Cola was the soft drink leader in 1880 in United States and took advantage of the commercial force of the United States at that time for spread on the whole planet.

Coca Cola is a North American brand who make soda, made by Coca Cola Company. Coca Cola was established in 1886. The name com from the two major ingredients; the sheet of coca and the  nuts of kola. The recipe was created by John Pemberton, pharmacist and veteran of the civil war  dependent on morphine. He was looking for a drink to get disintoxized gradually. That’s how Coca Cola was created.

Coca-Cola has become the most consumante drink in the world thanks to Robert Woodruff. During the World War 2, he was the president of the Company, throw the challenge to distribute Coca Cola to every American soldier who is away from his country for 5cts wherever they are, when they want to and whatever price it costs to the company. Thanks this idea Coca Cola will distribute 5 billions of bottles. At the end of the war, the world knew Coca-Cola. After that the Company go begin to embark on the conquest of the world market by exporting on the other continents with a very precise strategy, who’s name « the anthem at the local » it’s consist of « conceal » the fact that she’s an American company, which can be seen in sure country. For this purpose, companies are comprised of local population and fix to found local shareholders .

Coca Cola is a case of cultural assimilation. Indeed, Coca Cola has been created by the United States wich is the world’s leading poser. So, the whole America was drinking coca and, then, thanks to the American soft power the other countries have started to drink coca. In fact, this is a process by wich elements of a dominant culture are take by members of a minority culture.

Coca Cola is for me an icon of the global culture because, today, that you are in north America, in Latin America, in Europe, in Middle East, In Far East or in Africa, you’ll find Coca Cola in market, in restaurant, bars and in sur home. Coca Cola became a myth and a world leader in terms of consumption, influence and lifestyle. That drink crossed several generations all over the world and will continue for many longer years.
