Coca-Cola
COCA-COLA
Coca-Cola is the world leader of soft drinks since a long time. The brand has established itself as the leader on every continent of the world. It owes its success to its adaptation to every population of the world.
On this graph showing the repartition of Coca-Cola’s sales over the world, we can see that the brand has not only imposed on the American continent, but on all continents over the world.
The brand is available in more than 200 countries.
A particularity of Coca-Cola showing its adaptation over the world is that Coca-Cola has a personalized advertisement for each country where it is sold. They prefer to adapt to each country rather than impose the American style.
The Brand made the effort to write the name of the brand on each bottle in the language of countries instead of imposing the English name, principally for Asian countries. This demonstrates the flexibility of the brand and its willingness of adaptation. It’s the most popular soft drink in almost all the 200 countries in which it is sold, except for Scotland, India and Peru, where local beverages are more popular.
Coca-Cola has the most sophisticated and widespread production and distribution system in the world.
The brand's reputation is such that today it sells around 1.9 billion bottles a day worldwide, which represents one-third of the world's population.
That's why, to qualify this brand, they used the word game : COCACOLONIZATION.
I agree with this post because I think Coca-Cola is a very good example of global culture. Indeed, the brand was invented in America and became known worldwide. The article claims that Coca Cola is the world leader in non-alcoholic beverages. This information shows that Coca Cola is consumed in large quantities all over the world. So we can say that the culture of drinking Coca Cola has spread throughout the world. The strategy of adapting the name "Coca-Cola" according to the country where it is sold has made Coca known all over the world and that each country can identify with this product. Drinking Coca is therefore a culture that has spread in the world and each country gives it its own name, which shows that each country has adopted the Coca-Cola. However, in the minds of consumers Coca-Cola remains an American product that reflects the American consumer society of American way of life in the 60s. So, Coca is a global culture but above all an American culture. In my opinion, Coca is a product that illustrates the global culture culture but it is a product that remains American in the minds of people who know this drink.
