Global culture is defined as a culture that transcends national borders and exists in many parts of the world.
Everything that is shared, anticipated, participated and practiced on a global scale that unifies the entire planet is considered a global culture.
It is a global event, particularly widespread in Europe and America. It is celebrated in different ways by everyone between February 3 and March 9.  It generally consists of a period when the inhabitants of the city go out in disguise, even masked or even made up and meet to sing, dance, make music in the streets, and throw confetti and coils, march, possibly around a parade.
The specific elements that make it "global" are: its size, its festivity, its costumes, its colors.

The carnival dates back to 1549, of French origin.
The carnival is a cultural appropriation because this event has been repeated in all the countries of the world (Brazil, Italy, Spain, Canada...). Each country has its own way of celebrating it. For example, the Rio carnival in Brazil. In addition, everyone has seen, participated or heard about this event before

I chose this event because it is topical, and it is an interesting subject that allows us to discover the traditions of each country.
In my opinion, it is a multicultural event and part of globalization because it is accessible and open to all. Some, as the Rio Carnival, are covered in the media around the world.
As we have seen in class, no matter what the differences, carnival is a fun, accessible celebration for all.

  1. hey !
    It's a very good post.
I'm agree with you because The Carnival in Brazil is an opportunity for two million people to gather together to enjoy all the pleasures and you say right. Nothing is comparable to the flamboyant enjoyment, excitement, joy and sheer enjoyment of the great Brazilian carnival. The celebrations always begin weeks before the real launch of the carnival, with rehearsals for the samba parades, the activities of the Blockos, the street animations, and the cheerful and irresistible mood of the cariocas.
It's an experience you have to live at least once in your life and you are right to say that It is celebrated in different ways by everyone. Moreover , i think it add to class discution because carnival is a moment of share for différents people with alternative lifestyles, be they gay, lesbian, or transvestite and in a world with lots of conflicts it's a beautiful moment of share.
So , it's a very good post but you can say also that at the heart of the Rio Carnival is the Sambadrome, where the great samba Parade of the twelve best Samba schools has the honour of fighting for the title of Carnival Champion. Each school creates around a selected theme a performance of up to eighty-minutes. Thank you for your post !
