Welcome to the "Are We Living in a Global Culture" Blog!

"Are We Living in a Global Culture?" is a course exploring the ways in which we consider today’s culture in a global framework. Through critical engagement with various texts, images, and cultural events, we will focus on three main questions about culture in global contexts : cultural appropriation versus cultural assimilation ; globalization versus multiculturality ; global clashes versus global connections. By combining theoretical, literary, historical analysis and in-class discussion with innovative, hands-on assignments and projects, like the production of a short, student-directed film, we hope to understand various implications of global culture. Are we living in one or not?

For one of your CC assignments, you have been asked to write a 300 word blog about Global Culture. You have also been asked to write a 200-word response to another class member's blog post.
