Americanization

We are talking about a global culture, that is, the impact of culture. Today I chose the theme of Americanization to talk about global culture, this image is well representative. First of all, Americanization is the cultural and life mode of Americans, which is developing all over the world. The Marshall Plan is the first cause, it has helped the reconstruction of Europe that is to say they have provided financial assistance to France. She was therefore "indebted" and allowed the appearance of American films in France. From there many large American firms have settled in France such as "Coca Cola". From there the American Way of Life was born, young people adopt Way of Life of Americans in all fields. The media, television has encouraged the development of Americanization with also the Hollywood stars to whom the young people of today identify themselves and absolutely want to look like them. This Americanization is also visible in the food field, American fast-food has spread in the world we can see it with Mc Donald for example. The many brands as we can see some on the image (Microsoft). Americanization is developing more and more, that is to say that the culture of Americans is spreading more and more in the rest of the world, so we can see this as a "cultural globalization".

  1. Hi Lolita!
I think the subject you have chosen is very interesting because it is double-edged.
Indeed, we can talk about global culture since global culture is a new type of culture that reflects a common sharing among all countries. And since the nineteenth century, it's a process that is accelerating.
Americanization is the American culture that has been shared in many countries for many years, either by our eating habits or even by our style of dress. Today's world is under the influence of American soft power, but this Americanization especially affects teenagers who want to adopt the "American way of life".
But does the "global culture" not mean sharing one's own culture? Would not the Americanization of the world sound the end of local cultures?
We are immersed in American culture to this day, whether we like it or not. And we participate in these cultural inequalities.
I wonder if today we can still preserve the cultural identity of each country in the face of the Americanization of the world. We need to step back and find out if our society still shares its own culture or is crushed by this new external culture.
Thank you for this interesting article!
