Olympic Games
An example from
antiquity shows that we live in a global culture: The Olympic Games. Beyond the
sporting spirit of this event, these Games aim to bring together all the people
and cultures of ancient Greece in an environment of sport competition and peace.
For the record, the
first games of the modern era were created in 1896 under the influence of
Pierre de Coubertin who conveyed values of respect and live together among
all athletes and who declared "the important c ' is to participate.
This competition
represents all the countries in the world except the Vatican. During this
festival period all cultures are represented and live in harmony. It really
represents the Olympic spirit.
