Hello Lucile,
ReplyDeleteyour article was very interesting and very well written. Indeed as a student the subject you have chosen is fascinating. Study abroad is essential for cultures sharing. I agree with you when you say that this is a great opportunity, or even a chance to study abroad. Indeed I think it's an opportunity to live as a student in a country where we do not know the customs, the people, or the food. Doing this while we are young is certainly the best way to open your mind to the world and enrich your personal experience. When you go to a new university, it's always an opportunity to meet new people you would never have known in your home country. This is the advantage to study abroad because it is different from a simple trip where we would just visit, it is an opportunity to live in immersion with the local population, to exchange with these people. We can also bring the culture of our country of origin to these people. In addition I totally agree with you when you say that it will serve us in our professional life. This shows recruiters you have a good level of English if you have spent time and attended classes, several months abroad. And then it shows that you are open-minded.
I think this article is very actual and current, it could be a good representation of what is global culture today, because more and more students decide to leave their country and to study abroad, it allows to discover new countries and above all, new cultures. Moreover, every stranger student can exchange with locals about his country, his opinions, his influences… That’s what builds global culture in the world. We all know that globalization has standardized most cultures, but not totally! Each keeps its specificities. It may be interesting to discover other ways of life, it gives us a greater openness. We see that there are different ways of thinking and seeing things. Thanks to a sharp critical mind, young people who travel now have many points of comparison to judge events at home or elsewhere. Finally, these experiences abroad help to gain in maturity : without your family, you will have to fend for yourself, an unique experience to build self-confidence! You will learn to know yourself better and to open yourself to others. With your many meetings and your new resourcefulness, you will come back transformed. After having had some experiences abroad, I think that travelling is the best way to know, learn and share with other people.
