How series amplify the phenomenon of global culture ?
First, let’s define what is a serie…
A television series is a television fiction that takes
place in several parts of often equivalent duration, called
"episodes". The link between the episodes can be the story, the
characters or the theme of the series.
There are thousands of series in the world, covering
any subject and everybody can easily find a serie that could fit his interest.
In this article, I’ll show you how series, especially
the most famous ones, affects the spread of a global culture.
Nowadays, series are getting a gigantic fame through
the world and each day, millions of viewers are watching some of them.
This craze for series touch every continent, thereby,
each inhabitants of different countries might have in common at least one
serie. Obviously, big series such as Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead or La
Casa de Papel are those who are mostly watched, and so, they are mainly able to
create a global culture.
What's more, series bring people together because it reunites them
under the same interest. It can even go further with for example the Comic Con
Paris.
An event organized in Paris, around the pop culture,
mainly influenced by movies and series, and in which thousands of people from
all over the world meet every year (32’000 people in 2017 for example).
Finally, series permits to improve or even learn
some languages.
Many series can be watch in your native language but a
big part of them must be watched in Original Version, which is mainly English.
But watching series in English, even with subtitles,
if you don’t have English for native language, helps you a lot to improve
yourself in English by listening and reading English.
But you can also improve your Spanish with La Casa de
Papel or even your Japanese with Japanese animes.
Here are the main reasons why series helps to create a
global culture.

ReplyDeleteConcerning the content of your article I wanted to say that I was entirely in agreement with you. Today we live in a society where the series have a very important place in the global culture, in fact it is important to remember that nowadays series are the result of the communities and these communities are no more and no less than a group of people. sharing one or more same center of interest which is in perfect adequacy with the global culture. In addition, the series have grown so much that they exist in all genres and styles, which really allows everyone to find what they like so they can share it with others and discuss it.
I really like watching series (mainly American) and especially animated Japanese and this greatly influences my friends, my conversations or my references.
I think that the series plays a much more important role in our life than we might think, they are real centers of interest because they make us dream, feel emotions and sometimes even make us think.
