Fifa World Cup 2018

For me, its represents global culture because the football is a sport which gathers everybody : the players, the supporters, childs, adults, mens, womens..it’s a popular and accessible sport. The Fifa World cup in Russia in june is the best interpretation of the international football because all the countries of the world are represented, rich or poor countries like Panama, USA, South Arabia or Australia for exemples. The Fifa world cup is not just football, there are moments of communion also and it is one of the most important event of the year, every one is concerned, even those who do not necessarily like football.It’s a global event also beacause all the supporters of all the countries bring with their culture and sharing with the others, consequently it promotes tourism because all the persons eat at the restaurant, sleep at the hotels and go to the bars and visit the country. I think it’s a case of cultural assimilation because everybody discovers another culture and meets foreigners from all over the world so they can transmit and receive at the same time because they share the same passion: the football !

I choose this media because it shows very well the participation of all the nations, with different colors, different supporters, different players but the same goal, the victory and the pride of a whole people. For a lot a persons, the football is a religion, particulary the people in South America and Africa, where play  football does not cost everything. This media interests me because i love football since long years and i think it’s the most beautiful sport because it can reunite everybody from all the countries, all the religions, all the colors of skin and it’s a solution against racism or segregation.

About multiculturality and globalization, it’s the reunion of persons who have different cultures, different points of view, but during one month, they are in the same place at the same moment and they can everyone share their values, their passion and clearly their culture.

It add to our disccussion in class that the sport in general is a real form of global culture because it’s open to everybody and they are a lot of values of sharing, respect and communion and it’s one of the solutions for the mixture of cultures.
